Samsung had released the One UI 2.5 update for it’s Samsung Galaxy A71 users across the world. The update brings a host of improvements and fixes, along with the latest October 2020 security patch. The A71 galaxy model of Samsung was launched in December last year with One UI 2.0. And Samsung had given the device a major update of One UI 2.5.
The One UI 2.5: Software Update
The One UI 2.5 update carries firmware version number A715FXXU3ATI8 and a hefty size of 1014.82MB. One UI 2.5 is still based on Android 10. The Galaxy A71 running One UI 2.5 benefits from improvements to the camera app and Samsung Keyboard. The update also adds an SOS location-sharing feature for Messages, support for Bitmoji stickers on the AOD (Always On Display), and improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity.
About the keyboard, the Samsung Keyboard is updated in One UI 2.5 that allows you to search for YouTube videos directly. The YouTube shortcut in the keyboard’s settings lets users to search for videos on YouTube directly from the keyboard. The other feature with the keyboard is split keyboard on Landscape mode.
The camera got a major improvement in quality and stability. Just along, Bitmoji stickers are supported on Always On Display (Clock Style).
The Wi-Fi quality information would be shown to users as Very Fast, Fast, Normal, or Slow, if quality information on nearby routers can be measured. And users can easily request password for wifi from another nearby user connected to the same Wi-Fi.
The update also adds an SOS location-sharing feature to Messages in the Galaxy A71. Users can also call a person who is saved as a pre-configured SOS message contact. Both of these features are great for emergency situations, particularly the location-sharing feature.
The UI 2.5 originally rolled out with the Galaxy S20 series. And the updates with One UI 2.5 in Galaxy A71, brought along the October 2020 security patch as well. The update was supposed to soon roll out to other devices as well.
