Realme has come a long way since its inception in early 2018 as an OPPO sub-brand. Realme’s first flagship device came in the form of the Realme X2 Pro last year. And now it’s time for a proper sequel well equipped to battle not only flagships but flagship killers as well. Meet the Realme X50 Pro – one of the first phones kitted with the Snapdragon 865.
Design
The Realme X50 Pro 5G has, all-metal shell with a quad-camera array on the back along with a bezel-less display with a dual-camera cut-out on the front. The Realme X50 Pro 5G is pretty thick than other flagship devices. The Realme X50 Pro 5G doesn’t have a headphone socket or a slot for a microSD card. The camera bump on the back of the phone is also slimmer compared to what we’ve seen before on Realme phones
Display
The Realme X50 Pro 5G has a 1080p AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. Like other high refresh-rate panels, scrolling through UI elements at 90Hz is buttery smooth and makes it hard to return to 60Hz phones. There’s Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. The 6.44-inch AMOLED panel is bright, and the full-HD+ resolution keeps everything looking sharp
Charging speed and battery life
Realme X50 Pro 5G offers 65-watt charging with an included charging brick in the box (as in, you don’t need to pay for it separately), you can charge your phone from 0% to 100% in about 35 minutes. The phone does tend to heat up a bit when charging, but it cools down pretty quickly. As for battery life, the Realme X50 Pro 5G getting around 4 hours screen-on-time for a day’s usage which consists of Snapchat, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, Discord, etc
Performance
The main attraction here is, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. This is something we’re going to be seeing in a lot of flagship Android phones this year, and the big draw here is that it supports all kinds of 5G networks. Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 865 offers 25% greater performance than the Snapdragon 855, or 25% greater power efficiency when offering the same performance as its predecessor. The Adreno 650 GPU follows a similar approach – 20% faster graphics rendering or 35% more efficient graphics rendering when compared to the Adreno 640. The X50 Pro 5G will be available with up 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
