Realme 8 was released on March 25, 2021, and is gradually being available to other markets too. Realme 8 becomes the successor of the predecessor Realme 7 and its new display is arguably the biggest change over the global version of the Realme 7. Below, let’s explore the specifications of the phone featuring an AMOLED display.
Design and Display:
Realme has really tried to make its phone look interesting. Realme 8 has switched to a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel. The main focus of this year’s realme number series has been in slimming down the dimensions while reducing the weight as well. The phone is an all-plastic body with a lightweight of 177g and the device resolution is 1080 x 2400 pixels. The front of the realme 8 is made up of glass. At the back of the phone lies a huge “DARE TO LEAP” text; the phone’s own superlative slogan. The smartphone has a bezel-less punch hole set up on the front. The phone is available in two colour options – Cyber Black and Cyber Silver. Since it’s a Super AMOLED panel, the fingerprint scanner is now under the screen. And it also gives a touch sampling rate of 180Hz.
PERFORMANCE AND MEMORY:
Realme 8 comes into the same Helio G95 chipset that powered its predecessor. The top-end variant comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Realme also sells 4/128GB and 6/128GB variants in other markets. Other specifications include dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and the usual array of sensors and satellite navigation support. Realme 8 is powered with Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. Thus, it’ll get all the features that Android11 supports. The AMOLED display instantly livens up images and videos, making the Realme 8 a good device for media consumption.
Camera
The rear camera of Realme 7 and Realme 8 seem quite similar. There’s a 64 MP primary camera, 8 MP ultra-wide camera, 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 PM monochrome camera at the back of the device. That makes it a quad-camera setup. The primary 64-megapixel sensor is manufactured by OmniVision like the one on the Realme 7. At the front, you’ll get a 16 MP selfie camera. The Realme 8 doesn’t feature a 108MP camera but some of the new camera features are available on Realme 8 Pro model. Realme 8 has a better dynamic shooting range. Another fun photography mode on the Realme 8 is “Tilt-Shift” where it miniaturizes the scenario.
Battery Life
Realme has managed to supply the Realme 8 with the big 5,000 mAh battery into a thinner body. The 30W fast charging allows the device to charge fully in roughly 65 minutes. It also supports USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) fast charging (up to 15W). Also, there is a Power-saving mode, that claims to offer some benefit to battery life.
Realme 8 Price
The phone launched in India for INR 16,999 and is currently going for INR 16,499. The only Realme 8 Variant available in Nepal comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The Realme 8 is available for NPR 35,990.
