
Huawei last released a proper smartwatch 4 years back. The GT watch series was popular and this time, Huawei is back again with its new wearables. The Huawei Watch 3 and Huawei Watch 3 Pro are the company’s newly announced smartwatches. The wearables were announced on June 2, Wednesday at Huawei’s HarmonyOS launch event. Along with watch 3 and 3 Pro, the Chinese tech giant also launched a range of smart devices powered by its new HarmonyOS 2.
Despite the new OS, the Watch 3 offers a similar set of features to Huawei’s previous wearables. New additions include a redesigned home screen and there’s also support for video calling through Huawei’s own MeeTime service. Below, let’s find more about watch 3 and watch 3 pro specifications.
Huawei Watch 3 series
As per the company, Huawei Watch 3 Pro and Huawei Watch 3 run the company’s latest HarmonyOS 2.0. Both wearables feature 1.43-inch AMOLED displays with a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The display is guarded by the strengthened glass, the watch body is made out of high-quality steel and the back is made out of ceramic.
The watch features a 3D rotating crown that replaces the top button on the right, that senses different levels of pressure and provides haptic feedback in response to user input, making the watch both comfortable to wear and easy to operate. The watch is water-resistant up to 5 ATM and the body measures 46.2 mm in diameter and 12.15 mm in thickness.
The watch 3 Series allows you to make and receive phone calls and listen to music using the same phone number and data plan as your smartphone. The Huawei Watch 3 can be used on its own. It has an eSIM, which gives it a 4G data connection that can handle calls and also stream some tunes from Huawei Music. The music can also be sent to your Bluetooth headphones. The watch even supports video calls. HarmonyOS 2 integrates the smartwatch with smartphones making the Functionality flows directly from your smartphone to your wrist. The watch series also serves as a professional fitness & health manager.
As always, Huawei promises it’s working with developers on bringing their apps to its devices, and it showed off a range of app logos including one for the Emirates airline.
Battery Life
The Huawei Watch 3 Pro features an ultra-long battery life, which lasts five days in smart mode and 21 days in ultra-long battery life mode. whereas, watch 3 has a battery life of three days in smart mode and 14 days in ultra-long battery life mode.

Huawei Watch 3 Price and Release Date
The company states that Huawei Watch 3 series were made available for pre-order starting June 2 and will go on sale starting June 11 in China. Huawei Watch 3 Pro price starts at CNY 3,300 and Watch 3 starts at CNY 2,599.
The watch 3 series is available in markets for pre-order from 2 June to 17 June, while the Watch 3 goes on sale from18 June. As for the Pro model, pre-orders are active between 2 June and 27 June, with the watch becoming available on 27 June.
Huawei has priced the Watch 3 at £349.99 in the UK – making it one of the brand’s most expensive smartwatches to date (excluding Porsche Design variants), while the Watch 3 Pro costs £499.99. Both models are available from the Huawei Store and ‘selected retailers’.
Huawei Watch 3 will be offered in three variants – Active, Classic, and Elite. Huawei Watch 3 Pro is offered in Classic and Elite variants. Huawei is also offering these wearables with silicone, metal, and leather straps.
