Today WHO (Word Health Organization) has officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic.
What is pandemic?
According to WHO, Pandemic is defined as
the worldwide spread of a new disease
Why declared?
The reason of doing this declaration is massive increase in number of Covid-19 cases across the countries, all around the world.
According to recent data, there are 4,291 deaths and 118,000 reported cases. Now there are 114 countries have been affected. (Data from the blog posted day)

What should we do on pandemic situation?
Once pandemic is declared, it shouldn’t be taken lightly. Government and each person has to take seriously about their health care and be prepared.
Here are some tips about how to prevent the possible spread of disease:
- Wash your hand often with soap and water
- cover your nose, mouth safely while sneezing, coughing
- Avoid touching eye, nose and mouth
- Clean surfaces frequently
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- Limit your exposure to social events or gatherings
- Eat healthy food
- Consume foods providing you higher immune power
- Consult your health assistance in case of any symptoms
Current situation of Corona Virus in the world:
By August 18, 2020, Corona virus has crossed 22 million cases all over the world. The infected toll reached 22,078,970 whereas, total deaths has reached 778,091 and 14,814,000 people have successfully recovered from the disease. The ongoing active cases numbers 6,486,879.
USA tops the most infected cases with +203 new cases daily. USA has suffered 5,612,230 cases till date and 173,761 total deaths. Brazil is second and India falls in the third most affected country’s list.
The cases being raised daily in massive numbers, Russia has been able to officially announce the vaccine against coronavirus ‘Sputnik V’ after the Soviet satellite. Despite being announced as the vaccine for disease, the debate exists whether it’s fully effective or not. The vaccine’s registration is conditional and trials will continue while production gets underway.
